4. Gardner Minshew

When the Indianapolis Colts signed Gardner Minshew as a free agent, they did so knowing he was going to be the backup to whomever the Colts drafted, which ended up being Anthony Richardson. What the Colts didn’t expect was Minshew being the replacement starter after Week 5.

Yet, because injuries have claimed so many quarterbacks' health in 2023, Minshew has made eight starts and is 5-3 in those games. Again, he’s not having these numbers that are lighting up the scoreboard, but he’s winning football games for the Colts and leading them on a possible playoff run.

Even if Minshew doesn’t lead the Colts to the playoffs, his season in 2023 has to be seen as impressive and it could lead to a team like the Giants who might want to give him another opportunity to start again. Although if Minshew leads the Colts into the playoffs and possibly wins a game, that will likely lead to multiple teams with possible offers for Minshew.
