It goes without saying, but NY Giants head coach Brian Daboll silenced a lot of his critics in Week 5. With the team at 1-3 entering the game against the Seahawks, there were some calls for him to be fired, with people saying he's not the long-term answer for John Mara. With the upset win at Lumen Field, Daboll deserves a ton of credit, as he called a brilliant offensive game.

The Giants didn't have Malik Nabers, yet they looked fantastic. Things didn't start out that way, however. On the opening drive, a solid one, Eric Gray fumbled at the one-inch line and Seattle took the ball back 101 yards for the opening score. It was arguably the most Giants thing ever.

So, when Gray and his teammates got back to the sidelines, Daboll let them off the hook and told them to just flush the play, right? Nope, instead Daboll told his guys they need to finish the job down near the goalline and those kinds of mistakes can't happen. No letting his players off easy:

That 'No more wishy, shoulda-coulda-woulda. Let's do it' from Daboll is exactly what Big Blue supporters want to see out of their head coach. There were no excuses for the Giants on that long Seahawks TD, as they needed to execute, but they didn't.

Daboll was pretty upset at times during other parts of the game as well. He was livid with the defense basically napping to close out the first half, allowing Geno Smith to drive down the field quickly to set up a late field goal. He also was furious with Wan'Dale Robinson after he dropped a perfect ball from Daniel Jones on third down.

With this team being at 2-3, they could have easily been 3-2 or even 4-1 had they executed some plays against Washington and Dallas. This is something Daboll knows, which is why he wants to see perfection from the G-Men.

When the Giants are operating at a high level, there's no question they're a postseason-caliber side. Daboll understands this, which is why he's going to expect his group to do their job and execute whenever they hit the field. No more mental mistakes, period. Let's hope the Giants answer the call from Daboll the rest of the way. The next test is a primetime showdown vs. the Bengals for Sunday Night Football.
