Betting expert buying Daniel Jones’ stock ahead of Week 3 vs. 49ers

It looked like all hope was lost for Brian Daboll, Daniel Jones, and the New York Giants, but a 31-point second half and a 31-28 win over the Cardinals and New York is 1-1. Now, it’ll be a very tough test against the 2-0 San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football.

One of the biggest messages from BetSided NFL betting expert Iain MacMillan at the start of the season is not to overreact. That includes the Giants horrendous start to the year against the Cowboys and the first half against the Cardinals. 

MacMillan wrote, “I know the Giants had a terrible first six quarters of their season while San Francisco looks like a potential Super Bowl winner, but I just can't lay 11 points in this matchup. There are a few examples of similar situations this week where teams who have looked great in their first two weeks are facing teams who have looked bad in their first two weeks.”

We also can’t get carried away with Brock Purdy after missing a few throws last week in San Francisco’s win against LA. Daniel Jones had a strong 2022 and looked even better in the second half against Arizona, so MacMillan trusts him to put up a fight against the 49ers defense. 

“We have to do our best to not completely overreact to a two game sample size, so that's what I'm trying to do with these two teams. Let's also give Daniel Jones credit for looking fantastic in the second half against the Cardinals.”
