3. Los Angeles Chargers

With Jim Harbaugh taking over as head coach, there is no doubt he will look to implement a solid running game like he did during his time at University of Michigan. When watching Wolverines football, it's tough not to notice the ground-and-pound, run-first scheme that saw them trounce defenses en route to a national title.

With star wideouts Keenan Allen and Mike Williams likely to test free agency, the Chargers roster will look much different next season. For Harbaugh, handing the torch from Michigan running back Blake Corum to Barkley will be a perfect way for him to set the tone, and cement his coaching style in LA. With Austin Ekeler having a down year in 2023, the Chargers may hesitate to pay him the large contract he will attract in free agency.

Ryan Leaf, a former teammate and close friend of Harbaugh's, talked about what he expects to see from Harbaugh as head coach and his potential interest in Barkley.

"Austin Ekeler is a big part of what it could be with them running the football, but I do think that Saquon Barkley is going to be at the top of [Harbaug's] list, in terms of, what he wants to do with the running back position with him being a free agent."

For many, the city of Los Angeles is a lot more admirable than that of East Rutherford. Don't be surprised if Harbaugh attempts to make a signature move and translate his run-first scheme into the NFL by signing Barkley to a long-term deal.
