3. Matt Breida scores two TDs as Saquon Barkley's replacement
We're going to go ahead and assume that Saquon Barkley doesn't play in this one. Should that be the case, then all eyes will be on veteran running back Matt Breida to handle the majority of the workload carrying the ball for Big Blue. While we could see Gary Brightwell and Eric Gray get some touches too, Breida is the No. 2 guy here behind Saquon.
We're not ready to say that Breida will reach 100 rushing yards for the G-Men, but he will hope to make an impact both on the ground and through the air. Breida has proven to be a reliable backup option throughout his career and he's a trustworthy option for the Giants. This is Breida's seventh campaign in the NFL and that experience will pay off this week.
Last season with the Giants, his first in East Rutherford, Breida carried the ball 54 times for 220 yards and a touchdown. He added 20 receptions for 118 yards. Against the 49ers, we think that Breida will finish with around 50 rushing yards and a TD. Also, five receptions and 23 yards plus another score could be recorded too. So, 73 total yards and two TDs for him? Yup.
