4 bold predictions for the NY Giants vs. Cowboys in Week 1
Here we go. There's no more talking to be done. Nope, it's time to put on the pads, take the field and prove the NY Giants doubters wrong. On Sunday night, the G-Men will be hosting the Dallas Cowboys in what's easily one of the best matchups of opening weekend for the NFL.
The Cowboys have dominated this rivalry in recent years and they're entering the Week 1 battle as favorites to leave East Rutherford with another victory. Will that end up being the case? We don't think so. In this piece, we have our predictions for the action, which includes a rookie wideout turning heads vs. the Dallas secondary.
4. Jalin Hyatt posts 70+ receiving yards and a touchdown
While people can't wait to see what first-round pick Deonte Banks is able to do in his debut, be sure to keep a close eye on Jalin Hyatt in this one. The third-rounder and former Biletnikoff Award winner was brought to East Rutherford for a reason: his speed. Hyatt has tremendous wheels, as we saw him blow past Sauce Gardner in the preseason in impressive fashion.
In this one, the Giants and Daniel Jones are going to look to get the passing game going early on. There's of course going to be plenty of attention on new tight end Darren Waller, plus Darius Slayton and Isaiah Hodgins. Hyatt won't start, but he's going to have a chance to see plenty of the field on Sunday.
With so much attention going elsewhere for the Dallas D, it could open the door for Hyatt to quietly have a breakout game in his first regular season action with the G-Men. Fans would love nothing more than to see him break free for a huge score. So, what can we expect from the rookie? Let's go with five receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown.
