There are still plenty of NY Giants fans who are in shock that Joe Schoen went out and signed Cole Beasley last week. While a lot of people thought Beasley was going to retire, he's ready for one last chance to keep things going.
Early on at camp, Beasley has showcased his strong route running and veteran experience. While speaking to the media on Wednesday, head man Brian Daboll spoke highly of Beasley and the said experience that he'll be able to share with some of the younger guys in the receivers room:
"I think when you have a veteran in a room, any room, I think younger players can ask them questions and learn from some of the stuff that they've been through"

NY Giants head coach Brian Daboll is happy to have Cole Beasley in town
"We thought we'd add competition to the spot. We had some guys that were gonna be on PUP - he's been in our system, smart player, he's crafty. He's played a long time in this league, so I think when you have a veteran in a room, any room, I think younger players can ask them questions and learn from some of the stuff that they've been through."Brian Daboll
Beasley has 11 years of NFL action under his belt, with No. 12 on the way this campaign. Throughout his career, the crafty slot receiver has suited up for the Cowboys, Bills and Buccaneers. This is a bit of a reunion for Beasley with Daboll and Schoen, as they worked together previously in Buffalo.
Now that he's with the Giants, Beasley, 34, is the most experienced wideout on the roster. With Wan'Dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard starting camp on the PUP list, it opened the door for Beasley to not only sign, but also make plays for Daniel Jones.
The two wasted no time building a connection on Wednesday and we should see more of the same in the coming days. Beasley's road to the 53-man roster won't be an easy one, but his familiarity with Daboll and Co. could help him land a job.
