It's that time of the year where NFL fans can't wait for the regular season to arrive. For the NY Giants, things are surely going to be entertaining from start to finish, with star players on both sides of the ball ready to make a huge splash.

On defense, there's no question that the best tag team for the G-Men is Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams up front. Good luck to offensive linemen trying to contain those two in '23 - it's not going to be easy.

However, CBS Sports has come out with its 'best duos' for each team and they've decided to go in a different direction for the Giants. That's right, they see Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley as the best 1-2 punch for Brian Daboll and Co.

Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley will create magic for the NY Giants this season

"Jones has 44 passing touchdowns and 17 interceptions in games Barkley plays, along with a 91.4 passer rating. He has 16 touchdowns and 17 interceptions in games Barkley doesn't play (77.3 rating). Barkley playing in every game Jones did last season certainly helped, as he finished fourth in rushing yards (1,312) and ninth in rushing touchdowns (10). Barkley had the most rushing yards for a Giants player in a season since Tiki Barber (2006) and finished seventh in yards from scrimmage (1,650). The Giants need Jones and Barkley to make the playoffs, even with an improved offense around them in 2023. "

No one can question how important these two are for Big Blue. Barkley's life would be complicated without Jones, while Danny Dimes needs No. 26 next to him to be at his best. There's concern that Barkley may be a training camp holdout due to his contract issues, but there's hope an extension can get done. As soon as that happens - which we expect - then life will be less stressful for Jones.

These two offensive studs powered the Giants to their 9-7-1 record last season, plus the upset win over the Vikings in the Wild Card Round. We have a feeling Barkley and Jones will put up some huge numbers in '23.
