It feels like there are too many NY Giants haters out there who are downplaying the blockbuster trade to land Darren Waller. Has everyone forgotten that Waller, when healthy, is one of the best tight ends in the game? Come on, this guy is set to have a monster year for Big Blue in 2023.

If you ask quarterback Daniel Jones about the Waller addition for the offense, he could not be happier about how things have gone down. Jones was able to throw the ball to Waller for the first time recently in Arizona, but he's now fired up to target the big-bodied TE once the regular season rolls around.

Daniel Jones loved the NY Giants trade for Darren Waller

""He is someone the defense has to worry about how they are going to account for him, how they are going to cover him, who they are going to put on him and how they are going to play it. I think that just adds an element to our attack and gives the defense something else to worry about when you have a guy that big and that strong who can move like he can and open up the field. Just gives them something to worry about. We'll be able to move him around, use him in certain places and take advantage of his skill set." "

Not only that, but Jones added that Waller is a 'clear mismatch' for opposing defenses. We love seeing this from Danny Dimes, as the QB clearly can't wait to see what Waller can do for the Giants on Sundays.

Last season, Waller was only able to appear in nine games, finishing with 28 receptions for 388 yards and three touchdowns. However, Waller posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2019 and 2020.

Giants fans are hoping that version of Waller will be on display at MetLife Stadium for the G-Men. Waller is a monster with the ball in his hands. Jones is going to be looking his way early and often once Week 1 arrives.
