There is a long list of people who are thrilled the NY Giants have finally brought in a new star wide receiver to East Rutherford. That's right, with the No. 6 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Joe Schoen passed on drafting J.J. McCarthy and brought in LSU wideout Malik Nabers.

This is massive for the offense, and obviously, it's huge news for quarterback Daniel Jones. The former No. 6 overall pick hasn't had a WR1 to throw to - Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney never worked out. That has changed with Nabers on his way to town and Jones is 'fired up' over his new teammate.

Daniel Jones is thrilled the NY Giants selected Malik Nabers in the first round

Jones being happy shouldn't be a stunner. Nabers is the kind of game-changing receiver the Giants have been missing since Odell Beckham Jr. left the team back in 2018. With his breakaway speed, Nabers is going to be a problem for opposing defensive backs.

Not only that, but Jones must also be relieved that Schoen has backed him with a big-time weapon instead of drafting his replacement. McCarthy was indeed on the board at No. 6 when the Giants were on the clock. Schoen could have reached for him, but he did not.

Instead, he went with the guy who several experts had ranked as the No. 1 WR for this class- yes, ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr. This past season for the Tigers, Nabers, a 6-0, 200-pounder, posted 89 receptions for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Nabers and Jayden Daniels, taken No. 2 overall by the Commanders, were downright sensational together. Now, the hope is that Nabers and Danny Dimes will be able to develop strong chemistry as well. Schoen landed his guy at No. 6 and Jones will now have a new best friend on O too.
