Could this end up being a sign of good news to come in the coming weeks? It turned out to be a busy weekend for NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, who stole the show at a Zach Bryan concert over in Queens.

After having fun and entertaining the crowd, it was back to work for Jones on Sunday. Oh, and he had quite the workout partner grinding with him: Saquon Barkley. The two Giants superstars were spotted working out together at a high school in north New Jersey.

This is a great sign, as the two are putting in the extra time to get themselves ready for the 2023 campaign. Might this mean that Jones feels confident that a new deal with Barkley will be signed by July 17 too?

Jones and Barkley are good friends, with Danny Dimes no question hoping that No. 26 will land his payday this summer. Jones landed his four-year, $160 million contract, which then opened the door for the Giants to place Barkley on the non-exclusive franchise tag.

Saquon wasn't thrilled with this, leading to him being away from the team for the offseason program. Not having Barkley out on the field for mandatory minicamp was a bit concerning, but the good news is that Barkley's reps are back negotiating with general manager Joe Schoen.

With the July 17 deadline inching closer, the pressure is on for the two sides to finalize something. There was concern that Barkley could sit out the season, but Ian Rapoport reported that won't end up happening.

However, Barkley still wants some long-term security, especially after he posted a career year in 2022. No one knows how this will shape out, but for now, it's great news that Jones and Barkley are meeting up like this with training camp less than a month away.
