This would be a stunner if it happens.

We are still well over a month until the NFL trade deadline gets here, but it's not too early to start thinking about who might be leaving East Rutherford sooner rather than later. The NY Giants are 0-2 on the year and if things keep going downhill, they'll surely be sellers when the deadline arrives on Nov. 5. So, who could Joe Schoen end up dealing?

ESPN came out with a list of trade candidates and they surprisingly included Big Blue running back Devin Singletary. Singletary had a quiet showing in the season-opener, but he exploded for 95 yards and a touchdown vs. Washington, but he did lose a costly fumble. If NY indeed is stuck at one or two wins in early November, could the G-Men send him to a new squad?

Giants RB Devin Singletary listed by ESPN as a potential trade deadline candidate

"Singletary played for Brian Daboll in Buffalo and has been a true lead back so far this season under Daboll in New York, averaging 5.1 yards per carry. But the Giants feel like another team that's more likely to be selling than buying come early November, and they like Tyrone Tracy Jr., whom they drafted in the fifth round out of Purdue. If Tracy comes on strong, the season starts to slip away and someone comes asking for Singletary, you have to think the Giants would at least consider it. Singletary does have a $4.75 million salary for next year, of which $3.5 million is guaranteed, so any team interested would be taking on more than just a half-a-year rental."

ESPN's Dan Graziano

Singletary was brought in this offseason to help with the ground game following Saquon Barkley signing with the Eagles. The RB known as Motor has been consistent running the ball, but the Giants could be in a rough spot if they keep losing. A lot of people hoped this team would enter Week 3 undefeated, but their backs are now against the wall facing the Browns.

Darius Slayton is another player ESPN mentioned as a potential trade target on NY, as he's in the last season of his contract and Jalin Hyatt is waiting in the wings for more playing time on the outside. Seeing Singletary traded would be a bit of a stunner, but if the right offer comes in, then perhaps it could prove to be a situation where Schoen needs to bring in some draft capital in exchange for the playmaker.
