2. S Elijah Riley or Jalen Mills

One of Elijah Riley or Jalen Mills will be a solid backup safety for the Giants defense and the other may have trouble finding the field. Both were brought in to add some depth to the Giants secondary, which they do.

However, it will be hard for both of them to get substantial playing time. Starting with Riley, he's coming off a season where he only accounted for 12 total tackles, he had zero passes defended and no interceptions. He currently sits behind Jason Pinnock on the depth chart, but that could easily be Dane Belton's spot once the season begins.

Mills has more impressive raw numbers where he accounted for 45 total tackles, one pass defended and one forced fumble. With these numbers, why is he in contention for this? Simply put, he's 30 years old entering 2024 and he only played in 40 percent of snaps for New England in 2023. Right now, Mills probably edges out Riley in terms of playing time, but this is something that will be settled once camp ends.
