3 former NY Giants players the team can still sign in free agency
1. OG Justin Pugh
If the Giants wish to find a more consistent guard to fill in on the left side, then Justin Pugh might be their guy. Not only has he hinted at making a potential return, but if he can remain healthy, he could very well be the best guard on the team. Considering the likely low cost to bring him in, it would be more than worth signing the 32-year-old hoss.
In the five games Pugh appeared in before suffering a season-ending knee injury, he allowed just eight pressures and zero sacks. Obviously, this high level of success isn't sustainable, especially given how he normally performs. However, it shows that he's still a more than serviceable guard in the league.
Currently, the Giants are set to start either Josh Ezeudu or Ben Bredeson at left guard this season. While they may have a higher upside than Pugh, if they don't pan out, Pugh could provide some much-needed consistency to the offensive line.
It would be nice to see Pugh or any one of these guys return to the Giants. They may not be the stars they once were, but we have no doubt they'd provide an instant impact to the team. We know fans would be excited to bring these players back on the right deal as well.
