It really is remarkable to think about the transformation NY Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas has recorded in his three seasons with the team. The former first-round pick had a nightmare rookie campaign, which led to countless people calling him a bust.

Then in Year 2, Thomas took a major step forward and had people believing in him again. In 2022, Thomas was easily one of the best left tackles in the league, earning Second Team All-Pro honors. Thomas was amazing protecting Daniel Jones and opening up holes for Saquon Barkley.

With Thomas only being 24 years old, his best football is still ahead of him. This is something the team over at Pro Football Focus knows too, as they've ranked him at No. 10 on their list of top 25 players under 25:

NY Giants LT Andrew Thomas is surely in for a huge 2023 season

"Thomas took a major leap in his sophomore season in 2022. He earned a 78.9 grade in 2021 and an elite 90.3 grade in 2022. His 89.9 pass-blocking grade in 2022 was one of the highest marks in the league, and he allowed just seven sacks or hits on 700 pass-blocking snaps.

While we think Thomas deserves to be higher than No. 10, hey, we'll take it. Interestingly enough, CeeDee Lamb is ranked at No. 9, one spot ahead of Thomas. That seems a bit absurd, but again, we're not here to argue with PFF.

Thomas has been so good for the Giants, that there's no question he's in line for a monster extension in the near future. Joe Schoen was able to get things done with Dexter Lawrence this offseason and there's still some hope he and Saquon Barkley can finalize something as well.

The Giants picked up the fifth-year option for Thomas, but Schoen is going to want to give him a multi-year deal in the near future. Could it go down this summer? It'd be great for that to happen for Thomas, as he 100 percent deserves it.
