Giants fans go wild as Bryce Ford-Wheaton scores TD to ruin Seattle's comeback
By Ryan Heckman
They say this league is an ever-changing one. They say on any given Sunday, anything can happen. They say a lot of things that typically end in cliché format. Well, on Sunday afternoon during Week 5, the New York Giants threw all of those clichés out the window and did something rarely seen.
At one point, in the fourth quarter, the Giants found themselves up by a score of 23-13. With just 2:09 remaining in the game, Seattle came within a field goal after Geno Smith hit wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a touchdown.
New York took the ball back and proceeded to go 3-and-out on their next drive, resulting in a punt and giving the Seahawks a fighting chance with 1:40 to go. Following a 32-yard scamper by Smith and a short completion, the Seahawks were in position to kick a game-tying field goal and hopefully send this thing into overtime.
For Giants fans, not a lot of things have gone right in the last couple of years. This felt like a movie which fans had seen before. Of course, the Seahawks would make the kick and complete the 10-point comeback. Then, in overtime, the Giants would likely lose.
Right?
Wrong.
Seattle lined up for the kick. Isaiah Simmons blocked the kick. And, Bryce Ford-Wheaton picked it up and took it all the way back for a game-sealing touchdown.
Talk about an incredible story, here. Ford-Wheaton found himself undrafted in 2023 and was signed by the Giants. Just 3.5 months after being signed, he was placed on injured reserve after suffering a torn ACL. Not only did he come back from a devastating injury, but the former West Virginia standout earned a spot on this team -- and would you look at him, now?
Scoring game-sealing touchdowns on the road and in an hostile environment.

Victoria, you are all of us after that one!
I mean, way to call your shot there Joey ... could I request some receipts, though?
IT MEANS SOMETHING TO US!
I couldn't have said it better myself.
Hey, at least you're honest.
We love him, too. Yes, we do.
Never mind that Daniel Jones went out and made history in this win, too. Sorry Danny Dimes, today's headlines belong strictly to Mr. Bryce Ford-Wheaton. But seriously, though, good game for Jones.
