As soon as Week 1 arrives and the NY Giants host the Dallas Cowboys, countless fans are going to be ready to see what new linebacker Bobby Okereke can get done. Early on in the offseason, Joe Schoen made a major splash by inking the standout to a $40 million deal.

The LB play for the G-Men has been down in recent years, but the arrival of Okereke is massive for Brian Daboll and defensive coordinator Wink Martindale. And for Okereke, he is over the moon to be able to call his new area home.

This week, Okereke spoke at length with Alex Wilson of Empire Sports Media in a fun interview. A variety of topics were covered, with the 'backer making it clear he's jacked up to suit up for Big Blue moving forward.

Giants LB Bobby Okereke is loving the move to New York

"“I got a great front office, great coaching staff, great teammates, who’ve had a lot of success. Obviously, the defensive line I’m gonna be playing in front of is stellar. Yeah, it was kind of a perfect storm. They gave me a great offer, and being here in New York City, it was just a beautiful, beautiful situation.”"

That's a quote that is only going to have people even more pumped up for the regular season to get here. Okereke was a tackle machine for the Colts in recent years, finishing with 132 stops in 2021 and following that up with a head-turning 151 in '23.

Bringing in a stud LB was obviously a priority for the G-Men this offseason. The group was abysmal to watch last fall and winter, with Tae Crowder and Jaylon Smith both playing way more than they should have been.

Okereke has so many people thrilled with what he'll be able to do in the coming years. Okereke had plenty of suitors this offseason, but he knew in his heart where the best place would be for him. Luckily for NY supporters, he's ready to be a force for this team.
