After what has felt like two months, the NY Giants are all set to get back on the field on Monday night. We saw some incredible games on Sunday for Week 14, but now the G-Men and Packers are ready to take the field at MetLife Stadium in primetime.
Over the past week or so, it has been up in the air if star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence would be available to take the field in the primetime contest. However, we've just found out that Sexy Dexy will indeed be putting the pads on.
Dexter Lawrence expected to play vs. the Packers for Monday Night Football
According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, Lawrence is expected to play in this contest after missing Week 12 with a hamstring injury. Lawrence continued his rehab during the bye week and while he was off the practice field earlier in the week, he was able to get enough done leading up to Monday for the Giants to feel comfortable in having him take on Green Bay.
Having Lawrence return for this matchup is massive for the Giants and it's bad news for Jordan Love. Love and the Packers are coming off their thrilling upset win over the Chiefs in Week 13 - a result that not a lot of people saw coming. Love has been looking like a former first-round pick in recent weeks, as he's been throwing the ball all over the field.
However, Wink Martindale and the Giants defense will be looking to make his life quite difficult in East Rutherford. The good news here is that Lawrence will be in the middle of the battles in the trenches looking to apply some heavy pressure on him. Lawrence has looked like one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL this season. Big Blue supporters are fired up knowing that he'll be back in action.
