Giants News: Jalin Hyatt Rookie of the Week, Tommy Devito other offers, Carl Banks
Tommy DeVito passed on more money from the Patriots and Commanders
Need more of a reason to love DeVito, also known as Tommy Cutlets? According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, DeVito had multiple other offers after he went undrafted last spring. The list included the Commanders and Patriots, with New England and Washington both putting more money on the table. Instead of taking the dough, Tommy D chose to ink with the G-Men, his hometown team.
DeVito could have taken the cash, but he knew in his heart that he wanted to play at MetLife Stadium, the same venue where he captured a state title with Don Bosco Prep, a powerhouse in New Jersey. Now, things have worked out pretty well for DeVito, who is 2-1 in his three games starting for the G-Men this fall.
The rookie QB put on a show in the 31-19 win over the Commanders, tossing for three touchdowns. Then last weekend in the 10-7 victory over the Patriots, DeVito threw for 191 yards and a touchdown - that score went to Isaiah Hodgins. Looking ahead to the rest of the campaign, DeVito could remain the starter and potentially earn the QB2 job for 2024. Everything seems to be working out pretty well for him and joining Big Blue is a major reason why.
