Darren Waller and Tyrod Taylor ruled out for Week 9 vs. the Raiders

In some not so great news for the Giants, two key players have quickly been ruled out for Sunday's meeting with Las Vegas: Darren Waller and Tyrod Taylor. This was expected, as both guys went down due to injuries in the Week 8 loss to the New York Jets at MetLife. Now, it's unknown when they'll be able to return.

With Waller, this really is a setback for him. He has had issues with hamstring problems in recent years and the Giants knew there was a bit of a risk when they traded for him. Against the Commanders, he posted 98 receiving yards and a touchdown, firing everyone up about his role with the offense. Now, though, he may be out for a few weeks, which is just brutal for this offense.

As for Taylor, he suffered a rib injury against Gang Green and he had to stay overnight at a nearby hospital in New Jersey. With Taylor out of action, the expectation is that Tommy DeVito, who finished with -1 passing yards last Sunday, will be the QB2 over recently-signed Matt Barkley vs. Las Vegas. Taylor is needed back ASAP.
