As we get closer to the start of the 2023 campaign for the NY Giants, there's no question that plenty of eyes are going to be on second-year pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux. The former No. 5 overall pick wants to make a huge splash this upcoming season.
After getting off to a slow start in 2022, Thibodeaux was a monster for the second half of his rookie year. Because of that, fans can't wait to see what he'll be able to get done moving forward. Team legend Michael Strahan is also ready to see what Thibodeaux cooks up in Year 2.
Strahan is a big admirer of the young outside 'backer and he also believes in his potential. That's why Strahan thinks Thibodeaux can potentially reach double-digit sacks in '23. It goes without saying, but that'd be incredible for Brian Daboll and Wink Martindale:
Michael Strahan thinks a big year is coming for Giants pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux
Entering '22, Thibodeaux said that he was hoping to post a sack per game. That didn't happen, and he also fell short of topping Azeez Ojulari's rookie record of eight sacks for Big Blue. However, the promising talent still recorded 49 total tackles, four sacks and two forced fumbles.
We can't forget about his incredible touchdown on the road against the Washington Commanders, which not only played a big role in the G-Men coming out on top, but it also helped them get to the playoffs too.
Thibodeaux is a game-changer for this defense. There were some ups and downs, including a knee injury, during his first year in East Rutherford, but the sky is the limit for him. It's also going to give him a ton of confidence knowing that a Super Bowl winner and elite playmaker like Strahan is in his corner this season and beyond.
