NY Giants RBs coach Jeff Nixon set to join the Syracuse staff

While a lot of people have been wondering what's going to end up happening with Wink Martindale or Mike Kafka, we know of a different assistant coach who won't be back with the G-Men next season. That'd be running backs coach Jeff Nixon, who is going to be one and done with New York. That's because he's headed to the college ranks.

On Monday, it was reported by Matt Zenitz of 247Sports that Nixon is expected to be named the new offensive coordinator at Syracuse. Nixon was hired last spring by Daboll, but in less than a full season, Coach Dabes is now going to have to look for his replacement. Nixon had built a strong bond with Saquon Barkley thus far in his short time in East Rutherford.

This is the first of many coaching changes that fans can expect to see for next season. There's plenty of speculation that Daboll could part ways with several members of his staff. Nixon is the first one on his way out, but it feels that with each passing day the odds are going to keep growing that both Kafka and Martindale won't be back in '24 either.
