In the blink of an eye, the NY Giants have already completed OTAs, as several players looked nothing short of fantastic during the recent practice sessions. The list of course includes Malik Nabers, who is no question living up to the hype of being taken No. 6 overall in the NFL Draft.
Despite training camp not arriving until late July, that doesn't mean the G-Men are done with their offseason workouts. Soon enough, mandatory minicamp will get started and we're going to learn a lot about this team. So, when will things get underway?
NY Giants mandatory minicamp will run from June 11-13
Starting on Tuesday, June 11, the Giants will indeed be in action looking to improve on both sides of the ball. There will be three days of minicamp, and then the players will be off for a little while before things really start to heat up in terms of the preparation for the new campaign.
As strong as Nabers has been, the hope is that we can see other guys elevate their game at minicamp too. We'll get another look at Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Daniel Jones and others, which is something a lot of people can't wait for.
A big question folks have in mind too is whether or not Darren Waller will show up. Recently, a report from Adam Schefter and Jordan Raanan said that the G-Men are expecting the former Pro Bowler to hang up his cleats and not play for NY in 2024.
However, in a recent session with the press, Brian Daboll said the team is still waiting on a decision from the veteran tight end and that they're not going to rush a decision from him. While it seems likely he'll retire, Daboll leaving the door open sure has people talking. Soon enough, we'll find out if Waller will report or not, but regardless, the rest of the team will be in East Rutherford ready to ball out.
