The countdown continues to shrink for the first day of NY Giants training camp practices to get started. On July 23, the veterans will be joining the rookies in East Rutherford and then one day later we'll get our first look at how things are looking on both sides of the ball. Think there's going to be a lot of eyes on No. 6 overall pick Malik Nabers? You're darn right.

The hype continues to grow on Nabers and the belief is he can be the kind of weapon the Big Blue offense has been missing for the past five seasons. If you need even more reason to get excited about this kid, let offensive coordinator Mike Kafka get you fired up for Day 1 of practice to arrive. Straight up, Kafka has loved what he's seen out of the youngster this offseason:

NY Giants OC Mike Kafka is a big fan of Malik Nabers and his game

"So Nabers, he's a rookie right - he's learning how to be a pro in this game. The things we saw on tape at LSU are really the same things we've seen in the OTAs and the short amount of time we've had to work with him. He's strong, fast, explosive and aggressive. You know, we really covet those things at the receiver position and I'm really excited to work with him and help him be the best player he can be."

Kafka delivered that great quote on Nabers while speaking to The Athletic's Ted Nguyen ahead of camp. The OC's thoughts on Nabers shouldn't be a surprise at all. Countless fans are excited to see what he can do in Year 1, especially with there being so much pressure on Daniel Jones to deliver.

During OTAs and minicamp, Nabers dazzled with some incredible grabs. Now, he's going to have to showcase more of the same during minicamp and then once the preseason gets here in August too. The buzz around him is exciting and it's clear the high expectations aren't getting to him. Look for Nabers to put on a show throughout 2024 - Kafka is pumped up to see what he can do too.
