The NY Giants offense is going to look totally different next season, as Saquon Barkley is off to Philly. Devin Singletary was signed the same day Barkley bolted for the Eagles, but you already know a RB addition will be on his way at some point this offseason.

There are some veteran options in free agency, but the 2024 NFL Draft would likely make the most sense for Joe Schoen and Co. Enter Florida State RB Trey Benson? According to reporter Aaron Wilson, the Giants are showing 'heavy interest' in the 6-1, 210-pounder.

Giants fans are excited about the idea of Trey Benson being drafted by Joe Schoen

Could you imagine Benson and Singletary leading the ground game for Big Blue? Benson is coming off a tremendous season for Florida State in 2023, posting 906 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns - he averaged 5.8 yards per carry.

He's got fantastic speed for his size too and he's not afraid to deliver a big-time block whenever his number is called. Benson spent the first two years of his college career at Oregon before making the move to FSU. Now, he's getting ready for his professional days to get here and the Giants aren't the only team showing interest.

In a new mock draft for ESPN, Field Yates had Benson going to the Browns with the No. 54 overall pick. Benson is widely seen as a Day 2 pick, and we don't think there's a chance he'll somehow slip into the late first round.

With the Giants holding the No. 47 overall pick in the second round, if Benson is there for the taking, could Schoen send his name in? Say the Giants use their No. 6 overall pick on a star wideout like Malik Nabers, people would then hope that the second-rounder would be used on a QB like Michael Penix Jr.

However, the odds of Penix slipping to No. 47 feel tiny at this point thanks to how sharp he looked at both the NFL Combine and his UW Pro Day. However, adding Nabers and Benson in the first two rounds would be huge for the offense. There are needs on defense, especially the secondary, but if Wilson's sources are telling him the Giants really like Benson, then him being the second-round choice for Schoen will be something to monitor on April 26.
