Thankfully for the NY Giants and general manager Joe Schoen, there's no need to worry about who the team's starting quarterback will be in 2023. That honor will go to signal-caller Daniel Jones, who signed his four-year, $160 million deal with the squad this offseason.

The Eagles and Cowboys are set, with Jalen Hurts and Dak Prescott both ready to do big things in 2023 for Philly and Dallas. That leaves us with the lowly Washington Commanders, who have already given up on the failed Carson Wentz experiment.

With Lamar Jackson's future with the Ravens totally up in the air after he requested a trade, the Commanders seemed like a logical fit for him. However, the team has already said they won't go after him. Instead, they'll move forward with Sam Howell and Jacoby Brissett. Is this a joke?

The Commanders passing on trying to land Lamar Jackson is a terrible decision

""We never did (look into it)," Coach Ron Rivera said via CBS Sports on potentially pursuing Jackson. "That's just something that never felt suited to what we wanted to do. I know he's a tremendous talent. I know he's a player that can impact your team. That was just the direction for us as a football team." "

Even head coach Ron Rivera's comments have surprised a lot of people. Jackson is a former NFL MVP. Whether it's with his strong right arm or amazing wheels in the open field, the former Louisville standout is always a big-play threat. He's exactly the kind of player that would reignite plenty of excitement for the Commanders fanbase.

Instead, people in the D.C. area have Howell and Brissett to look forward to. That's a big yikes. Life is rough QB wise for Washington, but the same can't be said for the Giants. Jones is grinding this offseason and people can't wait to see what he can do once the regular season arrives.

When NY and Washington face off twice in 2023, we don't have to tell you that the Giants will have a huge QB advantage. Jones is just that good - Washington's QB options are not.
