You already know that rumors and speculation are going to be quite high with the NFL Draft around the corner. Such is the case surrounding Brandon Aiyuk, as the San Francisco 49ers wideout is evidently not too happy with how things are going for him in the Bay Area.

Countless eyebrows were raised when Aiyuk appeared to have unfollowed the 49ers on Instagram. Then, reports surfaced that Aiyuk had requested a trade out of San Francisco, with the NY Giants immediately being mentioned among the teams who should try and make a move for him. Hang on, though, as Aiyuk's agent has already shot that down.

You'd think that'd be the end of things, but plenty of people are still discussing whether or not an Aiyuk trade will come on draft night. Let's say he ends up being traded, could the Giants and general manager Joe Schoen have interest in him?

It's tough to say, but following the Brian Burns trade, the Giants don't have the kind of draft capital we think would be needed to please San Francisco. With the several other positional needs this team has entering the 2024 season, Schoen could be reluctant to miss out on addional picks too.

Not only that, but Aiyuk will likely want a big-time contract from his next team as well. The Giants don't have a ton of cap space to work with and Schoen doesn't seem too eager to invest a lot of dough in a non-premium position.

With New York holding the No. 6 overall pick, it might make a ton more sense to bring in a stud like Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze on a rookie contract than to trade away picks for Aiyuk and then give him a mega-deal. The sound of an Aiyuk trade sure sounds fun, but we just don't see Schoen and the Big Blue front office trying to make it happen.
