Come Monday, the NY Giants will be getting the band back together, as OTAs are set to get started. This will be a great chance for recent draft picks, including first-round pick Deonte Banks, to get a feel for how things go down during the offseason for the G-Men.

As excited as people are to see Banks, Daniel Jones, Dexter Lawrence, Bobby Okereke and others back on the grind, there's also plenty of concern among the fanbase regarding star running back Saquon Barkley and his contract situation.

Barkley was placed on the non-exclusive franchise tag and he wasn't happy about that at all. He wasn't present for the start of the offseason program after not signing his franchise tender. When the Giants get together on Monday for OTAs, No. 26 won't be out there.

Saquon Barkley isn't expected to be at Giants OTAs on Monday

Unless there's some sort of a drastic change, Barkley won't be with his teammates on Monday. He's still hoping to ink a multi-year deal with Big Blue and general manager Joe Schoen wants to get that done for him as well.

However, the problem is that Barkley reportedly is asking for way too much money. According to NJ.com's Bob Brookover, Schoen and Co. offered Barkley a deal worth up to $14 million a year with incentives early on in the offseason, but he turned that down.

This came after the Giants offered him around $12.5 million during the bye week and Barkley also rejected that number. What's it going to take? Barkley's agent turned away rumors that Barkley is eyeing Christian McCaffrey-type money, but is $13-14 million not good enough?

Barkley is without question the Giants' most explosive playmaker and he's a massive piece of the puzzle for the offense. Only time will tell if he and Schoen can get something done. They have until July 17 to make a new deal happen.
