On Friday, it was reported that the Giants were signing veteran defensive tackle Jordan Phillips. And while the full terms of the deal haven't been disclosed yet, Phillips – who played for the Bills in 2023 – will rejoin his former teammate, wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, in New York.

In fact, according to McKenzie himself, it was (apparently) drawn up that way:

We love a good recruiting story. Surely there's no way this could go south. That's not something that happens on Twitter. And while it's not like Phillips is going to make or break the Giants' season next year, you've got to imagine that GM Joe Schoen appreciates the help. But (surprise!), even if McKenzie's question was well-meaning, the QTs and responses, uh, were not.

Frankly, if McKenzie could actually get Josh Allen onto the Giants, maybe he should be the full-time GM after all.
