For a second there, NY Giants fans were getting ready to put some money aside to buy a new Stefon Diggs jersey. Over the weekend, the star wide receiver created quite a stir when he tweeted out 'Comeeeeee anddddd rescue me…' followed by his brother Trevon tweeting out they could play against one another twice a year.

Oh really? Then, Trevon liked a tweet mentioning the Giants as a possible destination. Goodness, Diggs catching balls for Daniel Jones? Yes please. As it turns out, though, Diggs quickly silenced any talk of a Big Blue trade, clarifying that he was simply tweeting out some Drake lyrics. Bummer.

Stefon Diggs Giants trade rumors came up over the weekend

Hey Stefon, couldn't you just have let us have some fun and draw up some trade scenarios? Nope, he was quick to just remind us all to check out the new Drake tracks. Having Diggs in the offense for Brian Daboll and Mike Kafka sure would have been epic.

The Giants are still in need of a WR1, and Diggs would have filled that void, and then some. This offseason, the G-Men have added Darren Waller and Parris Campbell for the aerial attack, while also bringing back Stering Shepard, Darius Slayton and Isaiah Hodgins in 2023. Oh, and a healthy Wan'Dale Robinson will also be ready to ball out in '23.

Come Week 1, there will still be some new faces coming for the offense. With the No. 25 overall pick, the expectation is NY will go after a stud wideout with their first-round pick. Quentin Johnston, Zay Flowers and others have been linked with the team.

With that said, trading for Diggs would have turned the NFL world upside down. It's also something people all over NY would have been fired up for. In the end, the Diggs bros were just having some fun on Twitter and we all got excited for nothing. Unfortunately, a lot of us turned out to be April Fools.
