Giants Rumors: Photo leaks of new MetLife Stadium turf and it looks glorious
NY Giants players have to be fired up over the news that brand new field turf has been installed at MetLife Stadium. While it's not a grass field that so many guys have been calling for, the new synthetic turf is designed to try and reduce injuries.
It goes without saying, but countless Achilles and ACL injuries have cut star players' campaigns short. The hope is that will no longer be a consistent issue for both NY and its opponents. Thanks to the one and only License Plate Guy, we've gotten a fresh look at the changes - and the field looks sensational.
The new turf for the NY Giants at MetLife Stadium is breathtaking
With the sunshine out in East Rutherford, it only makes the new field shine brightly inside of MetLife Stadium. All that's missing is the Giants logo at the 50-yard line to really make it pop, but hey, early September will be here before we know it.
At the end of the day, new turf has been needed at MetLife - this move was long overdue. Last season alone, Giants fans saw stud wideouts Wan'Dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard go down with torn ACLs thanks to the MetLife turf. Not only that, but several other players suffered season-ending injuries as well.
The hope is that this team will no longer have to be in a rough spot because of the crappy turf that was featured in prior seasons. The G-Men have high expectations for the new campaign, especially after all the moves the front office has made.
Frankly, the last thing Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen need to worry about is whether or not the playing surface for their guys will cut their campaigns short. This new turf really does feel like a gift from above. Giants fans are fired up over this and rightfully so.
