While there has been plenty of concern surrounding NY Giants players and their injuries ahead of Sunday, it looks like a key playmaker on offense will be good to go. We're talking in this case about star tight end Darren Waller, who is dealing with a hamstring problem.

However, No. 12 spoke with the media on Thursday and he said that he will be ready and fully fit for the showdown with the Cardinals on Sunday in Arizona. This is exactly the news Giants fans were hoping for, as they're ready to see if Waller can catch the first touchdown of his Big Blue career later this week.

Darren Waller will play vs. the Cardinals and that's great news for Daniel Jones

In his NY debut last Sunday night against the Cowboys, Waller posted three receptions for 36 yards. It wasn't the season-opener that people were hoping to see out of Waller and the Giants, but it's time to move on to Week 2. Waller and the G-Men have a great opportunity to bounce back.

Waller also provided some good news in saying that he doesn't anticipate his injured hamstring to be a long-term issue in '23. Looking ahead to Sunday, Waller will hope to be a matchup problem for the Cardinals defense - something the Big Blue faithful would love to see.

Andrew Thomas could miss Week 2 for the Giants

In some not-so great news, it feels like it would be a surprise if star left tackle Andrew Thomas is able to suit up on Sunday. Thomas injured his hamstring against the Cowboys and he sat out practice on Wednesday, while being limited on Thursday. Insider Dan Duggan doesn't expect Thomas to play too:

Resting Thomas could end up being a wise decision for Brian Daboll and Co. He's not at 100 percent and having him play vs. the Cards, with Week 3 against San Francisco coming next Thursday night, feels like it's too high of a risk. If Thomas can't play, Matt Peart will get the start at LT.
