The last time someone donned No. 13 for the NY Giants, he turned out to be the most explosive wide receiver in the organization's long, incredible history. Not to put extra pressure on Jalin Hyatt, but the comparisons with Odell Beckham Jr. are about to start rolling in for him.

In a pretty big surprise for people on Wednesday, Hyatt was spotted at practice no longer wearing the No. 84 on his back. Instead, the third-round pick out of Tennessee will indeed be sporting a No. 13 jersey for the Giants moving forward:

Jalin Hyatt wearing No. 13 for the NY Giants has people talking

Hyatt knows all about what Beckham was able to get done early on his career with Big Blue, as the rookie is a huge fan of his game. That's why when OBJ surprised Hyatt shortly after the NFL Draft, it meant the world to him.

Even with Big Blue Nation losing their minds over Hyatt's new jersey number, the youngster is trying to play things down a bit and he said that he's going to create a new legacy with the No. 13. With his amazing speed, Hyatt has the chance to really help Daniel Jones and Co. open up the field.

The first-year Giant is a Biletnikoff Award winner, coming off an incredible season with Tennessee last campaign. In 2022, the 6-0, 185-pounder caught 67 balls for 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns. Hyatt really opened eyes in the upset win over Alabama, posting six receptions for 267 yards and five scores.

Hyatt, who plenty of experts mocked to be taken in the first round, fell to the third round and Joe Schoen moved up to bring him to East Rutherford. Hyatt plays the game with a ton of confidence and he's going to have to back things up with his jersey decision. OBJ will surely be asked about this move - and we hope he's rooting for Hyatt here.
