It's going to be the battle of New York in Week 8. That's right, the New York Giants will go head to head this Sunday against the Jets with bragging rights on the line. While the Giants are sitting at a disappointing 2-5 and the Jets are playing up and down without Aaron Rodgers at 3-3, these two teams always seem to put up a great contest when facing off.
But for the Giants, it will be a tough matchup for sure. Despite the Jets playing inconsistent ball, they have been playing well as of late winning their last two games and keeping it close against the Kansas City Chiefs back in Week 4. So, if the Giants want to avoid dropping their third straight to Gang Green, the playmakers will need to try and contain these four guys:
4. Defensive Tackle Quinnen Williams
While the Giants are supposed to get some much-needed offensive line help back with Evan Neal and rookie John Michael Schmitz expected to return this weekend, this Giants o-line is going to have a major task at hand. This Jets defense is filled with many elite players, including DT Quinnen Williams.
Yes, Williams only has half a sack on the season for the Jets, but he is still very elite at his position and brings a lot of pressure which could be problematic for the Giants offensive line in protecting Tyrod Taylor. Williams has 19 total tackles on the season and two stuffed tackles for a loss as well. On top of that, the former Crimson Tide stud has an interception too.
This Jets defense is filled with many talented players - we get Williams's stats this year don't replicate an All-Pro Bowl-caliber season, but he's still somebody to look out for. The Giants make-shift offensive line could be in for a long day in slowing him down.
