The divorce between Kadarius Toney and the NY Giants has been ugly ever since things went down before the trade deadline last fall. Toney was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs and won a Super Bowl in February, but the youngster has taken every chance possible to try and stick it to his former team.
This offseason alone, Toney has attacked the G-Men and fans on more than one occasion. It's been disappointing to see. With that said, Toney has been dealing with some adversity early on at camp, as he suffered a knee injury and he's now expected to miss some time. Let us be clear: this is not something for Big Blue nation to celebrate at all.
Kadarius Toney could miss the start of the 2023 season due to a knee injury
In that video above, star Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce sure made it seem like this isn't going to be a short-term injury for Toney, who very well could end up missing some regular season action. When taking a look at Twitter, there are some Giants fans claiming that karma has caught up to Toney.
However, there are plenty of others who are taking the high road and not wishing any ill will against Toney. The former Giants first-round pick had plenty of issues in East Rutherford, opening the door for general manager Joe Schoen to trade him to KC for a pair of draft picks.
This included a third-rounder that the G-Men sent to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for standout tight end Darren Waller. At the end of the day, both sides should just look to the future and try to put the past behind them. Schoen, Brian Daboll and the Giants surely have - we just with Toney would too.
With that said, you never want to see anyone go down with any kind of an injury in the NFL. Toney has made plenty of mistakes in recent months by going after the Giants, but hey, we wish the kid a speedy recovery.
