After bringing in stud linebacker Bobby Okereke on a four-year, $40 million deal, NY Giants fans were over the moon in happiness. The LB play for the G-Men was abysmal last season, which is why Schoen has made improving the unit a top priority.

Well, it looks like Schoen isn't done to getting things done ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Giants are hosting former Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons 'backer Deion Jones for a visit on Monday. Will a signing be on the way before he leaves East Rutherford?

Jones' best days may be behind him, but there's no question that he'd be a solid addition for the Big Blue LBs room. During his first two seasons with the Falcons, Jones was an absolute beast. In 2017, he earned Pro Bowl honors after recording the best campaign of his career.

That season, the 6-1, 225-pounder posted 138 total tackles, one sack and three interceptions. After six seasons with the Falcons, Jones joined the Browns in 2022. He appeared in 11 games, making five starts for Cleveland.

Last season, he recorded 44 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Should Jones end up signing with the Giants, he wouldn't be looked at to return to his Pro Bowl level of play. However, thanks to his fantastic abilities in coverage, he could see significant time and make a big impact for Wink Martindale and Brian Daboll.

What's important to remember here too is that Jones won't break the bank with his next deal either. The Giants still need to improve their linebacker play, and Jones could help things out in that department. If the money makes sense on both sides, then we could get some breaking contract news soon on Jones and NY.
