This is not what we were expecting. Right now, all of the attention is on the schedule release, with everyone waiting to see when the NY Giants will be in action in 2024. However, leave it to the NFL and HBO to drop some stunning news from out of nowhere.

That news is that the G-Men and Brian Daboll will be featured in a new edition of the popular 'Hard Knocks' this year. It won't be a traditional version, though, as this is going to be following the Giants throughout the offseason from January to July.

The NY Giants will be featured for an offseason edition of Hard Knocks

This will be a five-part series that will be on HBO and streamed on Max. The premier is all set for July 2, which will surely get Big Blue supporters even more excited for training camp to get underway later in the summer. Things will then be wrapped up on July 30.

This will be part of the Giants' 100-year celebration as an organization, which adds to the intrigue of everything. The HBO cameras were following New York through the NFL Combine, the NFL Draft and free agency, with more to come.

"We are incredibly proud that 'Hard Knocks' is widely thought of as one of the most successful and entertaining unscripted sports franchises ever produced. To be able to expand on the 'Hard Knocks' universe, and with an elite franchise in the Giants while they celebrate their 100th season, is a privilege for all of us at NFL Films."

NFL Films' Ross Cutover

With the filming starting in January, a major question we have on our minds is did the cameras catch the beef between Daboll and Wink Martindale, which led to the former defensive coordinator storming out on Daboll and cursing him out in the process? We'll find out come July. On top of that, we could get an inside look at letting Saquon Barkley walk to sign with Philly, plus the blockbuster trade for Brian Burns. Yup, this is going to be must-see TV.

A quick look on social media shows that Giants Nation is fired up over this latest news, as they should be. Each year, Hard Knocks provides amazing entertainment and there are clips that go viral consistently. We have a feeling the exact same is going to be the case for the Giants, as this organization is hoping that the bad memories from '23 can be wiped away with a solid '24 campaign.
