4 most overrated Cowboys players from a Giants fan's perspective
2. QB Dak Prescott
There could be novels written about these next two players being overrated, but we don't have the time for that, unfortunately. We begin with quarterback Dak Prescott. The only reason he isn't No. 1 on this list is because it seems some Cowboys fans are starting to see what the rest of us have seen for years: Prescott is an above average quarterback and nothing more.
He's in the top half of the league, but he is not worthy of the Top 10 rating he is always given. In seven season in the league (really six because of that gruesome injury in 2020), Prescott has averaged more than 250 yards a game just three times and more than 300 yards a game only twice.
Yes, you have to be elite to continuously throw an average of 300 yards a game. But, Prescott is routinely considered as such, so why not hold him to the same standard? Prescott has been the beneficiary of elite talent around him, such as Dez Bryant, Ezekiel Elliott and CeeDee Lamb and still can't get it done in the playoffs. You can't have all the talent in the world around you, an elite offensive line and still not even make an NFC Championship game. Football is a team game, but Prescott is talked about as a guy who can carry the load. History shows he can't.
