Despite the NY Giants being off on Sunday due to a bye, a lot of fans are chalking things up as a loss due to the current draft order. At this time last week, the Giants were projected to have the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

However, with the Jets suffering another embarrassing loss, they're now up to that spot and the G-Men are slotted home at No. 7. There are several different directions for the G-Men to go with if they stick at No. 7, but there's no question that a lot of fans are hoping the front office goes with a new quarterback.

Will NY Giants general manager Joe Schoen take a new QB in the first round?

Unless the G-Men lose every game the rest of the year or trade up, then Big Blue Nation can kiss the Caleb Williams/Drake Maye dream goodbye. However, just because those two won't be on the table, that doesn't mean other options won't be there at No. 7.

What about LSU signal-caller Jayden Daniels? The Heisman Trophy front-runner has been mocked to the G-Men several times in recent weeks. Daniels was downright electric for LSU this season, throwing for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns and only four interceptions.

Daniels, if he chooses to play, will have one more chance to showcase his stuff in the college game on Jan. 1 against Wisconsin in the ReliaQuest Bowl. Giants fans will be tuned into this one closely, as Daniels could end up being the signal-caller of the future for this squad.

However, the Giants also could look to bring in a new offensive lineman or pass-rusher. Schoen has said he'll take the best available player when NY is on the clock, so who knows, maybe even a receiver could be selected. We won't know until next spring who the Giants end up going with, but it's feeling like a lock a Top 10 pick will be on the way - unless the G-Men catch fire over the next month or so.
