NY Giants Round 2 Pick: Kansas State CB Julius Brents

The Giants have a legitimate need at the cornerback position. While Adoree' Jackson will be returning as the CB1, they are lacking firepower at CB2. If the team is looking to address the position, a player such as Kansas State's Julius Brents could be their guy at No. 57 overall.

After spending two seasons at Iowa, Brents made the move to Kansas State in 2021. Upon his arrival, the young cornerback took his game to new heights. Over 13 games, he recorded 49 total tackles, three tackles for loss, two defended passes and one interception.

This past season, Brents once again was a driving force of the Kansas State defense. While appearing in 14 games, the senior cornerback recorded 45 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, four defended passes, four interceptions, and one forced fumble.

Brents plays with a physical style that could fit perfectly into this Giants defense. While coming in at 6-3 and 198 pounds, he also has the size to match up with even the bigger targets in the NFL.

While Brents is not the perfect prospect, he has potential, and could very well develop into a star at the position. Pairing him alongside Jackson could give the Giants cornerback room a reliable one-two punch.
