NY Giants 7-round Mock Draft: Daniel Jones gets his WR1 in the first round

New York Giants Round 6 Pick: Ronnie Hickman S Ohio State
The loss of safety Julian Love could be one of the more difficult losses that the Giants faced this offseason. Dane Belton showed legitimate potential in Year 1 and could take the starting spot alongside Xavier McKinney, but the team could still look to add more depth to the group. Ohio State's Ronnie Hickman could very well be one of the draft's more underrated safeties and could fit nicely into this New York defense at No. 209 overall.
While at Ohio State, Hickman moved around the Buckeyes defense. After taking over as a starter in 2021, he became one of the more consistent pieces of the unit. In his first season as a starter, he recorded 99 total tackles, 54 solo tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and two interceptions.
Following his strong 2021 campaign, Hickman was once again a playmaker in 2022. Over 13 games, he recorded 53 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, seven defended passes and one interception.
While Hickman isn't the most polished safety in the draft, he has a high upside. If he is still on the board in the sixth round, he could be worth bringing in. Not only would he be a solid depth addition, but he has all the tools to develop into a reliable starter at the position.
