2. Two Giants youngsters win the interior o-line starting jobs

Two of the most intriguing training camp battles have been taking place on the interior of the Giants offensive line. After the Giants drafted John Michael Schmitz in the second round of April's draft, he was widely expected to be handed the starting center job, but that's not the case. Schmitz has been entrenched in a battle with Ben Bredeson for the position.

Bredeson is also in a battle with Josh Ezeudu for the starting job at left guard. It's early in the summer, so it's hard to tell where the Giants decision-makers are leaning, especially since the three linemen have been splitting the first and second-team reps. Schoen has consistently stated since he became Big Blue's GM that the path to sustainable success is drafting well and developing those picks, which makes me believe the Giants will start Schmitz at center, Ezeudu at left guard, and bring Bredeson, who has more versatility, off the bench. After all, there is no better development than live game reps.

Ezeudu, the Giants 2022 third-round pick, played just 290 snaps last season due to various injuries. Schoen drafted the North Carolina product in the third round due to his athletic 6-4, 308-pound frame, and I think he will take a significant step forward in Year 2. He needs more development, but his ceiling is infinitely higher than Bredeson's.
