3. OLB Boogie Basham Jr.

The Giants traded for linebacker Boogie Basham Jr. last season from the Buffalo Bills and the team expected he'd enhance an already stacked defensive front. However, the former Bill could not live up to expectations, which is why we could see the Giants move on from him after one season.

Basham did not record a single sack for the Giants in 2023 and was seen by many as a disappointment, as he could not contribute to a pass-rush that has the likes of Kayvon Thibodeaux, Dexter Lawrence and Micah McFadden to name a few. It would not be a real surprise if the Giants decide to trade him before Week 1, especially after already adding another elite pass-rusher.

With the Giants trading for and then signing former Carolina Panthers pass-rusher Brian Burns to a five-year contract, it almost seems inevitable that Basham may be the odd man out for the Giants on defense. Plus if the G-Men do decide to trade him, it could free up $1.4 million in cap space. This move will be one to watch.
