Giants CB Deonte Banks missing OTAs to graduate was special to see
Where was Deonte Banks for Day 2 of OTAs? It turns out the NY Giants first-round pick wasn't in East Rutherford for the action, but he had the best possible excuse to be out of town: he was officially graduating from the University of Maryland.
On Tuesday, Banks was on campus to walk across the stage with the Terps' 2023 graduating class. According to Giants insider Art Stapleton, Banks is getting his degree in Family Science. Banks took to Instagram to share the special day for his fans to see. We love the New York gear being rocked by his dad too:

Banks is all smiles and understandably so. His dad sporting a Giants hat and jersey only makes things better here. Hey, we can't wait for Mr. Banks to watch his son ball out at MetLife Stadium. Someone make sure this guy always has a hot dog and cold drink in his hand at all times.
As for the Giants first-rounder, he's really having a great past 30 days. In late April, the Giants traded up with the Jaguars to use the No. 24 pick on him. Fast forward to this week, and he was making plays for the G-Men during Day 1 of OTAs and then he donned a cap and gown to celebrate a different incredible achievement.
Banks is known for his confidence on the football field, but he was also showcasing some major swag at his graduation ceremony as well. The future is bright for the youngster, as people have high expectations for him working opposite of fellow stud CB Adoree' Jackson.
The defensive back will be back on the field with the Giants soon enough, ready to impress Brian Daboll and defensive coordinator Wink Martindale. For now, he and his family can keep on celebrating him getting his degree. Cheers to you, Deonte.
