2. CB Deonte Banks

If there's one position whose struggles should be shrugged off during training camp, it's cornerback. While watching guys play poorly isn't fun, it's worth mentioning that corners often aren't allowed to play at 100 percent due to the rough nature of their position compared to the laid-back nature of training camp.

Regardless, Deonte Banks hasn't looked all that great against the Giants' veteran wide receiver core. When you compare Banks' poor play to the incredible play of Commanders rookie CB Emmanuel Forbes, it's hard not to worry a bit. We're sure Banks will be fine, but his start to training camp has hindered our confidence a bit.

Banks will likely prove us wrong once the season starts - we hope he does. Despite this, we had hoped for a better training camp start out of the first-round pick. While training camp only shows so much, the preseason will be a much better way to gauge Banks' play come time for him to step on the field.

There are still plenty of chances for Banks to prove that he's ready to play prior to the preseason. However, what he's shown us thus far doesn't have us the most confident that this will happen in time for the regular season. Again, we're sure Banks will prove us wrong, but actions speak that loudest and he must show us this before we get too excited.
