1. CB Darnay Holmes

Considering how electric Darnay Holmes was during last season's training camp, we're rather disappointed in how poorly he's played thus far. This isn't the most surprising considering how lackluster Holmes' play was in '22. However, Holmes hasn't played well and he's looked pretty rough on multiple reps.

Holmes has been an easy target for nearly every WR who's lined up against him and it has us thinking that his time in New York could be cut short. New York already has plenty of young corners with higher upside in their secondary, so it wouldn't surprise us if he is released in order to free up room at the position.

Not only would releasing Holmes give the Giants more room to play guys like Aaron Robinson, Tre Hawkins, and Cor'Dale Flott, but it would also free up around $2.5 million in cap space. This could allow New York to sign a veteran free agent in a bigger position of need.

Holmes has had several opportunities to prove he can be a starting-caliber corner in the NFL. Despite this, he hasn't shown much during his first three seasons in the NFL. Whenever it seems like Holmes is set for a breakout year, he always comes crashing back down to earth. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him cut soon.
