4 NY Giants I hope prove me wrong during training camp
3. CB Darnay Holmes
Last season, Darnay Holmes lit the training camp world on fire with his performances day in and day out. Fans could not have been more excited to see what Holmes was going to bring to the table during the 2022 season. Despite this, Holmes greatly disappointed to the point where many thought he'd be released this offseason.
In 2022, Holmes allowed 43 receptions on 66 targets for 456 yards and one touchdown. Alongside this, Holmes was flagged a ridiculous nine times throughout the year. Holmes was consistently making mistakes all over the field, something that cannot continue in the '23 season.
The Giants have too many younger corners with more potential than Holmes to continuously allow him to make mistakes. Honestly, it just seems like Holmes isn't built to be a top-three corner on a competitive team. Maybe we're wrong, but he hasn't done much to prove otherwise.
Perhaps Holmes can have another standout training camp and gain some much-needed confidence for the 2023 season. If this becomes the case, the Giants could enter next season with an incredibly stacked secondary.
