3. Left Tackle Andrew Thomas
This was a shocker last Thursday night when the Giants listed left tackle Andrew Thomas as out in their game against the San Francisco 49ers. His absence from the Giants lineup showed, as Jones from the start looked terrified of the Niners dominant defense. Even though Danny Dimes was only sacked twice during that game, Thomas was missed, both for his pass protection and run blocking.
Thomas, who was the Giants first-round pick in 2020, has proven why he was selected that high as he has become one of the league's premier offensive lineman. He was a Second-Team All Pro last year, helping him land his massive extension from general manager Joe Schoen. His deal was a five-year one worth $117.5 million.
The Giants offensive line is young and somewhat inexperienced as it is - it has shown over the first three games. They have just been not firing on all cylinders and missing Thomas again in a game that seems like a must-win for the Giants would be a nightmare. Brian Daboll said that he's hopeful that Thomas can play on Monday. Fans need to keep their fingers crossed he's ready to rock.
