TRADE ALERT: NY Giants trade 2024 second, third and fourth-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals for late first-round pick, select Oregon QB Bo Nix

In several mock drafts, three star quarterbacks end up falling to the second round. This is where things get tricky, because if the Giants want to risk waiting until they have the No. 39 overall pick in the second round, which is the seventh pick, it’s a gamble, and a team could jump up to trade for a QB.

But Joe Schoen isn’t afraid to trade up, as he did so a year ago when he moved one spot with the Jacksonville Jaguars to draft Deonte Banks in the first round. Then he traded up again in the third round with the Los Angeles Rams to take Jalin Hyatt. This time, he gets even more bold.

In this trade prediction, we have Schoen sending a second-rounder (No. 47 overall), plus a third-round pick and a fourth-rounder to Arizona in exchange for the No. 27 overall pick. And with that pick, the Giants will go after Oregon signal-caller Bo Nix.

Nix had a tremendous end to his tenure with the Ducks, throwing for 4,508 yards, 45 touchdowns and only three interceptions. In his final game against Liberty, Nix threw for 363 yards and five touchdowns in the Fiesta Bowl that Oregon easily won 45-6. The win only helped Nix’s draft stock heading into April.

Two months ago, Nix was at one point being mocked to the Giants when they had the No. 5 pick. Fans were upset, but if they were to get Nix with the 27th overall pick as opposed to early in the first round, it might be an easier pill for them to swallow.

Drafting Nix would give the Giants their quarterback of the future and it would put Jones on notice - in all likelihood, it would mean Jones would get cut after the 2024 season.
