2. CB Darnay Holmes

The battle for the Giants slot-cornerback spot between fourth-year defensive back Darnay Holmes and second-year Cor’Dale Flott has been underway throughout the first weeks of training camp. Both have had opportunities to play with the first unit this offseason, but the expectation is that Holmes will win the job because of experience.

While Holmes has been the primary slot CB for the past three seasons, he was seen working out with the third-team defense earlier in camp, which raises many concerns for Giants fans. On the other hand, Flott has bulked up and added muscle this offseason to improve his tackling abilities.

The Giants projected starters on the outside are seventh-year DB Adoree' Jackson and 2023 first-round pick out of Maryland Deonte Banks. Fellow rookie Tre Hawkins III has also had an exceptional training camp and has impressed the coaching staff already.

With Flott looking like a future star on Big Blue's roster and cornerbacks Jackson, Banks, and Hawkins III all having a good camp, is Holmes' roster spot in jeopardy? Keep an eye out for Holmes on Friday night to stand out as he makes a case to be named the Giants' starting slot cornerback.
